Java Programming Adventure

Youth will  learn one of the most wildly used programming languages around the world. Many large organizations around the world are using Java to meet their information technology needs. These organizations include banks, retailers, insurance companies, utilities, and manufacturers. Furthermore, organizations are using Java coding in all sorts of industries. Companies use Java in building web applications, software tools, scientific applications, and medical tools and applications. In addition, it runs some of the most amazing Android apps like Spotify, Twitter and many more!

Coding with Java-1 course is carefully designed for youth to give them a head start in building a brighter future in school or future profession! We will get you up to speed with the basics, and then you will walk away with some incredible knowledge and a variety of apps to share with your friends, family and to include it in your academic or professional  portfolio.

To add more fun and interaction in class, youth will be introduced to Java Processing to express creativity by  creating drawings and shapes. Learn how to animate these shapes and drawings to build animations and video games.

All in all, through drawing shapes and building simple applications and games, youth will learn the following concepts in Java:

  1. Print to screen
  2. Data Type and Variables such as integer, String, Character and Boolean
  3. User Input and output
  4. If conditions and loops
  5. Arrays and functions
  6. Classes and methodts
  7. File reading and Writing
  8. Creating GUI Application with JavaFX
  9. Database woth Sqlite
  10. GUI with Database applications

Youth need to bring their own laptop to the in-person classes.

Who can register for this Program?

  • This is a program for coding with Java and NetBeans.
  • Any youth 12+ can with a good foundation in coding with blocks or any other programing language such as Python can register in this course.

How is the payment processed?

Payments will be auto-re-newed on the first of every month, depending on the number of classes. Using the month of January as an example, you will be charged $112 on January 1st, for the entirety of January 2022 because there are four classes in January ($28/per class).

There is a onetime $50 registration fee will be added to the first payment.
