Job Title: 3D & Roblox Coding Instructor
Duration:
In-person and full-time from June 20th to August 15th
Job Description:
Are you passionate about STEAM, coding, and teaching?! Well, this is the job for you!
We are looking for full-time summer computer/coding/robotics instructors with experience in various programming languages (like Scratch, Python, HTML & CSS, JS, or Java), robotics, digital art and/or video production.
Instructors will be asked to teach for 4-7 hours each day for 2-4 days a week. The rest of the time will be used to prepare materials for class, make class plans, and slide shows.
Who are We?
My Code Club is a non-profit focused on developing critical digital and technology skills among young learners to preparing them to find professional pathways in today’s growing digital economy. My Code Club offers quarterly coding, digital media, and robotics courses for kids, youth, and girls aged 8-16. The growing enrollment in our courses reflects the high quality and the community’s trust in our offerings.
Who are You?
You are passionate about inspiring, leading, and teaching grade 2 to 12 students in a fun environment. This position is ideal for college/university students/graduates in computer science, computer engineering, design, or other STEAM-related fields. You are passionate about teaching and want to make a difference in young generations.
You are organized in your planning, creative in your approach to teaching, and love to work with young kids and youth. You are also excited to continue working with My Code Club after the summer to work as a part-time instructor!
Requirements, Qualifications, & Skills
- Experience in coding with Python and Lua Script
- Experience in playing and developing with Roblox
- Experience with TinkerCad or any other 3D modelling experience
- Working with children and making lesson plans
- Police Check or Vulnerable Sector Check Required
- Compassionate with a passion for inspiring young minds
- Passionate about teaching technology to kids and teens
- Flexible team player with solid communication skills
- Has a positive attitude and a sense of humour
- Well-organized and committed
- Creative and energetic
- Must be authorized to work in the US or Canada
Nice to Haves
Note you do not need to have these to apply, but it would improve your chances
- Any of the following coding languages: HTML & CSS, JavaScript, Scratch, or Others
- First-Aid and/or High-Five Certifications
- Work with robotics and engineering
- Experience in digital art and video production
